Too Much To Handle
When Markus was beginning to feel like Minecraft was getting too much to handle he founded Mojang. Mojang hires around twenty-odd people, has a flat management structure and loose working hours. Markus believes that when something has as much success as Minecraft, you can just choose yourself the way to do things. I also know that he hates feeling in charge. He believes everyone is equal and the work place should be that way too. He knows that its hard because he's the founder, but we work around it. We all find a way to be bossy sometimes. Markus loves his company for the fun, not for the money.
Why Minecraft?
Markus never thought his sandbox game Minecraft would ever turn out to be such a success. Though, as soon as it hit the internet, it was a huge hit. Now you might be thinking, why would such a simple, old school game be such a hit? Well, play it and you'll see! It consists of multiple cubed minerals and blocks. Not only does it fill you with creativity and fun, it also teaches you important things like architecture, math, and design.
I know for a fact Markus had a plan, and it worked very well. He knew that infinite power isn't all that interesting, so he made it so you could choose. Limited tools while surviving against the odds, or whatever you'd like in just a few clicks.

The Past
Markus grew up in Edsbyn, Sweden's eastern coast. He always looked up to his father, especially in tough times. He always knew that even when his father was struggling, he loved him. Now, more than ever, he started realizing that his father was a huge part of his life. When Markus was a little boy, his father taught him how to use the family Commodore 128. When he was seven, his family moved to Stockholm, Sweden. There he fell into a crowd of schoolboy programmers. They were all only about thirteen, and they competed against each other to see who could get the coolest effects on their Atari ST's. By 1994 Markus knew he wanted to design and program video games. He couldn't get a job for about two years, but when he did, the genius came out.

How it began @notch
I've grown closer and closer to Markus since I first met him to now. Most people think they know about his life, but actually, most don't. He was born on the 1st of June 1975 in Stockholm, Sweden. He began developing programs at age seven and created his first video game at age eight. He mostly worked on text-based adventures until 2005, when he got a job at King.com. Markus started getting recognition in 2011 when his sandbox game, Minecraft came out. He left his job to focus on his new game, which sold over three million copies in the first year and a half. He also got married, but it only lasted a year. Around that time, I came in. I helped mostly on smaller stuff, but eventually got up to Head Developer. He stepped down, not too long ago, and gave his Pocket Edition job to me.

Because it's fun
Now Notch isn't just any man. He may have created what could be called 'The Best Game Ever', but that's just the beginning. He is the Head Developer of Mojang and also created Scrolls. Notch didn't do it for the money. He actually didn't know it'd be such a success. He did it because he has passion and love for his work. One idea comes into his mind and the next thing you know, everyone's having fun. Now you might ask, what kind of man begins programming at the age seven, then a year later makes his own video game? Well, the answer is Markus Persson. Now, he thinks his success is a once-in-a-lifetime event, but I disagree.
